I'm a Superwoman. I work hard now so I can play harder later. ... And I say exactly what I think, generally at the time in which the thought arises. Didn't it ever occur to you that life would be spectacularly more entertaining if everyone did this? But people are so ridiculously concerned with keeping up appearances. That's the thing, though; appearances are seldom what they seem. Fortunately, when it comes to Jade, what you see is what you get. Now, I don't know if that encourages you or not.

Moving Forward

The response to my blog idea so far has been great!  What an amazing feeling -- the support from friends and family excited to see me succeed.  To that end, my brilliant, tech-savvy brother, Zach, made a suggestion: Why not create my OWN website, and use that instead?  I'm a bit limited by what I can do here on Blogger.  He talked me through the purchase process, and as of right now, jadefogg.com is under construction!  Zach will add blog software for me, and when it's complete, I'll get the information to you all.

Meanwhile, I'd love to comment on how much I love the Indian Summers we have here in Maryland almost every year.  This weather is divine!  I enjoyed it yesterday, when I went to visit my beautiful horse, Tagg.  We love to ride in a quiet neighborhood just up the street from the farm where he's stabled.  Each house in this neighborhood is quite large, with the smaller properties having two or three acres, and the larger ones five to seven.  Their yards are well-groomed, the houses equally so, and almost all the people friendly and kind.

Several of these folk have invited me to ride across their yards and fields when Tagg and I are out and about. We do this every chance we get (As long as it hasn't rained recently.  We're careful to respect the time the owners put into their lawns!  A horse running across wet grass makes horrid holes in the ground, tearing the grass wherever he steps.).  On Sunday, we did a bit of work in the fields of a man named Joe, who has a son,  Joey, a daughter whom I've yet to meet, and a mother who I've spoken to briefly from Tagg's back.  Their fields are mostly flat, with just a bit of hilly-ness here and there, which is great for riding.  Flat enough to work on, but the slight hills are great for strengthening a horse's muscles!  Tagg was very pleased to be out, and made every effort to go as fast as I would let him, as we cantered and galloped around the trees.  The wind rushing past us -- it was amazing.  I live for moments like these.

Thanks again for the support, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you in the coming months!

In the Beginning

So I've been thinking about how difficult marketing a new book will be, and realized that I should begin the process now.  I figured that a good way to do so would be to begin a blog, and, assuming all goes well, create a following.  A year or two from now, when my book is published, I will hopefully have a large number of dedicated readers who will be interested in what I have to say.  Please inform your friends and people who you know would be interested in keeping up with my posts on a regular basis.  Thanks and love you all --
